ECCC Parents and Staff,

We are thinking about all our families during these pandemic times.  We hope that everyone is doing well, staying healthy and safe.

ECCC will officially be reopening the daycare to provide for your children on Monday, June 1st. This will enable the Ellwood City Children’s Center to be ready to ensure the safety of everyone.  UPDATEThe Infant Room will be opening on June 1st.

Our child care facility will be ready to care for your children with strict absolute procedures in place to ensure a safe and healthy environment.

We must know your child/children’s schedule a week in advance. In order for your child/children to attend you must give us your child’s schedule to Miss Jody by Friday the week before, even if you are a regular, we still need to know. If WE DO NOT HAVE your child’s schedule, we WILL NOT be able to accept your child for the day/week. Under the new guidelines we can only have 25 in a room including staff.  For this reason we need to be very strict with our procedures. Due to our capacity restraints, please limit attendance at ECCC to your work days.

Drop-off and Pick-up procedures will change immediately! ECCC will only be using the back entrance for now.  Everyone is asked to stay in the Entrance Area/rear porch/steps to maintain social distancing between each family. Do not permit your children to run in the parking lot.

Upon entering the Center, EVERYONE (children, parents, grandparents, staff, etc.) who enters the building will have their temperatures taken by a staff person. NO ONE can be over the state mandated temperature (children 100 degrees and adults 100.4 degrees) If anyone in the family is over the temperature, the ENTIRE family must go home and not return until 24 hours fever free. Staff will also be sent home if they are over the temperature. We ask that if you or anyone in your family is not feeling well to PLEASE JUST STAY HOME.

Next, you will need to take your children into the bathrooms to wash and dry their hands.  All children and staff must wash their hands before entering the classrooms.

After temperatures are taken and hands are washed, your children will be sent or escorted to their rooms by our staff. For the health and safety of everyone, NO PARENTS are permitted in the building beyond the rear entry way.

MASKS must be worn by everyone (children, parents, staff, etc.), over the age of 2. We know that masks are hard to wear all day. We will do our best to keep the masks on the children. The Toddlers are not required to wear masks.

NO ITEMS from home will be permitted in the rooms at this time. Book bags, blankets, sleep toys, etc.  MUST STAY HOME. If any child, under the age of 4, needs a special blanket or sleep toy, please bring one to keep at the Center and we will wash it. It must have a name on it and it will not leave the building for the know future.

Finally, at the end of day, parents are to wait in the rear Entrance Area. Staff will bring your child(ren) to you.

We are sorry for any inconvenience these new drop-off and pick-up procedures may cause your family. The new procedures are necessary to ensure the health and safety of all children, parents and staff at the Ellwood City Children’s Center. Please check our new website at ellwoodcitychildrenscenter.com for updated information.

We hope to see you all soon! We miss all of you!

Take Care,

Dr. Dale, Miss Debbie and Miss Jody
